The definition of wright is one who builds, creates, or repairs something.
It is usually used in combination with another word (i.e. shipwright, wheelwright, playwright).
This image represents the kind of person and the kind of writer I would like to be.
You saw who you created me to be before I became me!
Before I’d ever seen the light of day,
the number of days you planned for me
were already recorded in your book.
Psalm 139:16 (The Passion Translation)
Introducing our first official anthology from many talented authors of the
Minnesota Christian Writer's Guild. You can order your copy HERE. Everyone approached the theme of seasons in a different way. I hope you enjoy my piece, which is the story of two best friends, a gold finch and a woodpecker. They share what it's like to live in the lovely and diverse state of Minnesota as they navigate through the changes of the four seasons.

Short and Sweet Publications
Compiled and edited by Susan Cheeves King and published by Grace Publishing, these books are filled with stories that are written using words of only one syllable. There are a few exceptions, like proper nouns, numbers, direct quotes, and a few more. One important exception is that a word can be polysyllabic if it has five or fewer letters (as in only, into, acre, even...). I have a submission in each of these books. These are all available on Amazon. Click HERE to link to see the most recent book in the series. New books are being published regularly. Watch here for news about the next issue.

Most of us have just one or two moms, but God saw fit to give me three. My first mom died just as I was born. It was not her choice to leave me. My dad was more than sad; he was mad at God. He could not get past his grief. And he could not care for me with four more kids at home, so I was sent to live with a new mom and dad from our church. I stayed with them until the time I learned to crawl. They would have liked to keep me with them for the rest of my life. But by then my dad had met and wed the one who would be my third mom.
Edna cared for me for nine months as I lay close to her heart. Norma gave me back, though she did not want to. Ruth loved me and taught me and cared for me for over fifty years. How I love these three moms of mine! How I thank God that each of them has had a part in my life.
I earned a BA in Elementary Education at Bethel College in St. Paul, MN. I chose this major because as a child I loved school. I used my education to homeschool my own children and then to teach at the schools they attended in Jr. and Sr. High School. I’ve used it to write curriculum and teach classes and special programs at church. And it has been very helpful training as I have worked on extra-curricular projects like my grammar and states workbooks.
Married for 44 years to my husband Cary, we have 2 adult children who, along with their spouses, have provided us with four beautiful grandchildren. I am retired from the front office position I held at my church for 20 years. It is my joy to provide admin support to 3 non-profit organizations, Great Commission Media Ministries (GCMM), Dare to Believe Ministries (D2B), and Minnesota Christian Writers Guild (MCWG). Check them out...they are all wonderful ministries.
Plus, I am always working on 2-3 (or more) writing projects. I think I could be the poster child for the "busier after retirement" crowd. God is so good!
